Trends come and go and fashions change, but some music stays with us always. Since the days of their first Fostex four-track recordings, Elvyn have sought the sounds whose foundations were laid by giants and were built upon by the bands that fill their record collections to this day.
Formed by Joel and Ryan Beerman in 1998, Elvyn began to craft songs influenced by a youth spent with the soft sputter of vinyl and hiss of cassette tapes, jam packed with pop gems from bands such as The Replacements and classic Americana like The Flying Burrito Brothers.
Releasing a three song demo entitled As Dark As It Is, a full-length record Ten Car Stereo and an E.P. The Big Bay. Elvyn continue to fly under the radar, but have garnered praise from college radio stations and music publications across the country for their "rootsy power-pop and heartfelt imagery". Joined by Jason O'Reilly on bass and Jeremy Knibbs on guitar, Elvyn released a new and much anticipated full length album, The Decline on March 26th, 2010. |
